Case-Based Update on Addison’s Disease

June 2 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm CDT

As the saying goes, “when you hear hoof prints, think horses” but what happens if you get a zebra? Many of us hunt for but seldom find Addison’s, but when we do find it, figuring out what to do next can be intimidating. Join the most entertaining and least intimidating endocrinologist, Dr. Patty Lathan, to demystify this zebra.

Dr. Lathan will use cases to illustrate diagnosis and treatment of this challenging disease. Through this virtual event, participants will:

  • Review common tests and challenges for diagnosing Addison’s
  • Identify both typical and atypical forms
  • Adjust doses of steroids used to treat dogs with hypoadrenocorticism

Meet the Speaker: PATTY LATHAN, VMD, MS, DACVIM
Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University. Dr. Lathan specializes in endocrinology, specifically adrenal function testing, diabetes mellitus, and the mitigation of side effects of glucocorticoids.
