Join us back in the Hawkshead F2 Council room for the penultimate session of the Harbor Business Experience. This HBE session dives into three very synergistic fundamentals: Key Activities, Resources, and Costs. This fundamental marks a key shift from the other fundamentals covered so far in the course. Up to this point, the fundamentals we’ve discussed have been externally focused (i.e., on your customer). In this fundamental, we finally look internally at how business leaders think about delivering on the promise of value you made to your customer in your value proposition. This month’s business fundamentals are synergistic because by understanding one of them, you can understand the other two more easily. If you understand the business’s Key Activities that are core to the delivery of value, then you can predict what Key Resources are needed to carry out those activities. This knowledge can also help a business use its resources more wisely and efficiently. If you understand what Key Resources are needed, you can predict the business’s fundamental cost structure (i.e., what it will cost to acquire those resources).
Your Key Activities drive what Key Resources are needed, which drive what Key Costs will be incurred. Activities –> Resources –> Costs. As always, dinner will be provided; message Legend Thurman with any dietary requests by the day before the event.
